My husband ‘gingerly’ popped the lid off our fermenting carrots and ginger. It had been sat on a shelf for a few days (5 rather than 3 as I had forgotten to put it in the fridge on day 3) then in the fridge for a few days. I had been nervously leaving it alone, worried that I may have spoilt it by the long wait out of the fridge.
Do you know what he said?
I thought he was being sarcastic. But no. He followed up with:
I thought it was going to be disgusting but it is really delicious
The kids won’t go near it as they are terrified of ginger but I am so pleased by his feedback. Dear reader, he would not have been shy about telling me if he did not like it!
What does it taste like? It most reminds me of good old fashioned ginger beer, with a light fresh crunch from the carrots. So far I have added some to a wrap (nice) and had it on the side of a roast.
My husband’s has already decided that I should establish an artisan business making the stuff he thinks it is so good. Any takers? ; )
